Countdown to Men On A Mission

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great Easter!

As you may know we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Color Run in downtown Andalusia on April the 26th. In addition to the 5k, this year we have added what we call “Men On A Mission”. These men are from our community and are making a difference by devoting their lives to a particular mission. We were hoping you would be able this information on your Facebook's, Twitter, emails, and anywhere else! You can also find more here at our website or

This year’s men on a mission include:
Ryne Taylor with Campus Outreach (
“The vision of Campus Outreach is "Glorifying God by Building Laborers on the Campus for the Lost World." We seek to build laborers with a commitment to Jesus and His Great Commission through evangelism and discipleship. We are passionately reaching students with the gospel and training them to become mature followers of Christ. Our desire is to see students leave college equipped to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God.”

Todd Sasser with Crossover Ministries (
“At Crossover Ministry we seek to help individuals overcome their addiction through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, based on Scriptural Truths. It is an 8 month recovery program which includes 4 months of residential treatment plus 4 months of aftercare. Although residents have constant supervision; Crossover ministry is NOT a 'half-way' house or a lock down facility. Crossover Ministry provides a working and study environment; participation in daily Bible studies and classes about scriptural principles for overcoming addiction. In addition life skills including GED preparation are taught and residents have an opportunity to participate in the growth of the ministry.”

Wyatt Sasser with Forever Reins (
“Forever Reins is a new equine- assisted activities center to be located central south Alabama. The organization operates as a non-profit corporation specializing in cliental with various mental and physical challenges.”

Brent Cook with Jail Ministry
Witnessing and bringing the Word of God to those currently in jail.

Brad Hall with Christian Motorcycle Association “Run For The Son” (
“To inspire our leaders and members to be the most organized, advanced, equipped, financially stable organization, full of integrity in the motorcycling industry and the Kingdom of God.”

Benji Jordan with Rylan Pettie’s Cancer Awareness
Rylan is the son of Jordan and Cortney Pettie, from Andalusia, AL. On June 23, 2013, just 5 days after his 3rd birthday, Rylan began to run a low-grade fever. After being taken to the doctor, he was treated for strep, although the tests were negative. That night he began to throw up and on Wednesday blood work revealed that his white blood cell count was dangerously low and something was very wrong. Rylan was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham and within a few short hours the family was told that their suspicion was leukemia. A bone marrow biopsy the next day, June 27, confirmed those fears and more tests showed that we were dealing with Pre-B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Rylan spent 8 days at Children’s and began chemotherapy immediately. He has traveled to Birmingham once a week since June for treatments and had another extended stay in the hospital in July . He has been brave and resilient from the start. Rylan still has a long journey ahead, but we are trusting in the Lord for Rylan’s complete healing.

As you can see, these missions range from a personal to national level. It is the goal of “Men On A Mission” to bring awareness to these missions in our own backyard. This ministry isn’t about Mt. Gilead, and it’s not even about these men. It about God and what He is doing in our community through His people.

Here is how we are raising awareness to these ministries. On April 26th we are having our 2nd Annual Color Run in Downtown Andalusia. At 10:30 there will be the award ceremony for run, and at 10:30 we will have our Men On A Mission “Stick It To Him”. How this works is that individuals can buy a ticket for $1 at the 3 Notch Emporium in Andalusia or by calling 334-488-3219 or334-488-0344. All of these donations will go to the ministries listed above. At 10:30am on the run day, there will be a drawing. If your name is chosen, you get to “Stick It To Him” and pour syrup on your choice of Men On A Mission. A praise and worship service will follow at 11:00am. We encourage everyone to come and join us as we praise God. You can bring your church, bring your family, or just bring yourself!

Thank you for your time and I hope you have a very blessed day! If you have any questions please contact me at this email address or at the phone number listed in my signature.
